Kampala, 20 February 2020: – The Ministry of Health working with partners has concluded investigations into rumours that have been circulating on social media alleging that there is a suspected case of the 2019 novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in construction camps both in Buliisa and Masindi districts.
 
A joint Ministry of Health, World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) surveillance team visited 4 construction camps in Masindi- Paraa road and the 5th camp in Buliisa and established that:

Kampala, 10 February 2020:- The Ministry of Health launched data collection exercise for the Uganda Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment Survey 2020, (UPHIA2020) intended to provide national and regional estimates of HIV, incidence, prevalence, viral Load suppression and other programme indicators of coverage, outcome and impact in Uganda.

Kampala, 10 February 2020- The Ministry of Health received cold chain and transport equipment worth nine million dollars procured through United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and World Health Organization (WHO) with support from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI). The equipment included 657 motorcycles, 996 solar fridges, 10 generators, vaccine carriers and cold boxes.

Kampala 6 February 2020: The Ministry of Health Uganda would like to update the general public on the country’s preparedness following the declaration of a confirmed outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in China that has now spread to other countries.

Kampala, 27 Januarry 2020:- The Ministry of Health would like to inform the public of the confirmation of an outbreak of Yellow Fever in Moyo District in West Nile region and Buliisa District in Hoima region. 

In Moyo District, there are two confirmed cases, both are males aged 18 and 21 years. The two cases were dealing in cutting and trading timber between Uganda and South Sudan. On 2 January 2020, the two cases travelled from South Sudan to Moyo.

Kampala 6 January 2020: - The Minister of Health, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng lauded partnership and coordination as the key drivers for the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) preparedness response in Uganda.

Kampala, 16th December 2019:- Uganda marked the International Men's Day under the theme — 'Engaging Men and Boys for a Healthy and violence-free Generation'.

Zombo, 16 December 2019: – As part of its strategic plan to prevent Cholera outbreaks in the country, the Ministry of Health, with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) embarked on round two of the second phase of the Integrated Oral Cholera Vaccination Campaign exercise targeting over 681 270 individuals aged one year and above. 

The exercise is taking place in the five (5) Cholera hotspot districts of Bududa, Buliisa, Nebbi, Pakwach and Zombo.
