Experts conclude Scoping Mission to Harmonize & Align Health Financial Resources in Sierra Leone
A team of international financial management and health technical experts of the Joint Funding Platform completed a one week scoping mission in Sierra Leone. The team comprised of experts from GAVI, Global Fund World Bank and WHO. The mission was conducted under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS) and facilitated by different levels of WHO. The objectives were to understand Government and donor plans in the areas of fiduciary harmonization & alignment, existing fiduciary arrangements and challenges and agree on the proposed joint financial management assessment (FMA) mission dates.
The mission was conducted in line with the Paris Declaration on aid effectiveness to promote: national ownership; alignment with national systems; harmonization among agencies; and mutual accountability among partners and the state to better align country priorities and processes in planning, reporting, and financial management
