WHO supports training for Rapid Response Teams

Dar es Salaam, 20-28 April 2017 : WHO supported a Training of Trainers for Rapid Response Teams (RRT) from 20 – 28 April 2017 in Bagamoyo. The training aimed at equipping training coordinators with skills for planning, organizing, and mounting a rapid response to emergencies.

The Ministry of Health Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children in collaboration with stakeholders have been implementing initiatives to strengthen the country’s capacity to respond to public health emergencies. The Training of Trainers (ToT) for Rapid Response Teams (RRT) is developed with the intention of increasing the number of professionals and teams, in the country, able to early detect and effectively respond to public health events, irrespective of origin or source, that present or could present significant harm to the Tanzanian population.

The training program will support the long-term work force development requirements for establishing and maintaining rapid response teams at national and sub-national levels.

Upon successful completion of the participants will be eligible to become members of the RRT Global Network. The aim of this global network is to exchange information and experiences in conducting RRT in their settings as well as provide a platform for continuing education.
