As of 30 March 2024, WHO was actively monitoring 105 outbreaks and 29 humanitarian events in the African Region. Of these, 17 were graded as public health emergencies. The most severe emergencies, classified as Grade 3, included widespread cholera outbreaks exacerbated by the rainy and cyclone seasons, dengue fever surges due to climatic and environmental factors and protracted humanitarian crises.
