The achievements highlighted in this report were possible thanks to strong collaboration and partnership with the government, UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, civil society and the private sector. We also value the unwavering support from AFRO and HQ that helped us successfully implement all the prioritized interventions. Our dedicated and committed staff were at the centre of our work, ensuring that Nigeria is better supported to achieve its national health aspirations. As 2019 comes to an end, I would like to extend, on my behalf and on behalf of the leadership, my sincere appreciation to all colleagues for the tremendous effort in supporting the government. We recognize high levels of poverty, inflated unemployment, disparities in the distribution of health services and the large youth population (at nearly over 50% of the total population) as some of the key challenges to deal with. These will require a coordinated and multi-sectoral approach. Nevertheless, Nigeria remains on a trajectory towards attainment of UHC and achievement of the targets under Sustainable Development Goal 3. I hope you enjoy reading this report.
