Overview

Objectives

The main objective of the workshop is to support countries to gain knowledge about solutions that can be used to address existing testing gaps and to strengthen testing and linkage services and coverage overall by: 

  • disseminating global recommendations on HIV testing and linkage to care (2024 WHO HTS guidelines, VHB and syphilis testing guidance, normative guidance and implementation recommendations).
  • discussing the adoption, adaptation and prioritization of WHO guidelines to the different country contexts
  • exchanging lessons learned across countries through reviewing and discussing experience and national testing and linkage data.
  • Identifying innovative approaches and implementation solutions to improve HIV testing service delivery and coverage; including in the context of testing integration (EMTCT for eg)
  • strategizing ways to efficiently and effectively adapt testing and linkage services to feed into triple elimination goals and integrated service delivery for impact.

 Expected Outcomes:

  •  Increased understanding of WHO testing guidelines and successful HIV testing (including in the context of integration of testing) and linkage approaches and strategies.
  • Identification of innovative approaches, technologies for HIV testing including in the context of integration of testing) and implementation solutions to improve HIV testing services tailored to the context and to vulnerable and key populations.
  • Strengthened commitment from participating countries and partners to prioritize and invest in improving HIV testing outcomes.
  • Clear strategies for how testing and linkage services can be adapted to maximize impact on triple elimination goals.
