Brazzaville, 6 March 2007 -- The health landscape across Africa is changing, with real, measurable progress in key areas. More children are receiving life-saving vaccines. The opportunities to prevent and treat malaria and HIV/AIDS are growing. Several countries are demonstrating how African approaches are improving road safety, giving people better access to health workers and making the first months of a child's life safer.

The first-ever WHO Partners Forum will bring together development partners, regional organizations, UN agencies, and high level country representatives to focus on how to change the way partners work together. The forum will tackle some of the biggest health questions on the continent, including child survival, safe motherhood, attaining universal access to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care and scaling up the health workforce.
