Key Achievement Highlights
- WHO Mekelle Office dispatched 1.27 Metric tons & 1.18 Metric tons of medical equipment and medical supplies to Quiha General Hospital and Hewo
- Primary Hospital, respectively.
- WHO supported the launching of OCV mass vaccination campaign on Sep 16, 2023, in nine cholera-affected districts located in eight zones of Amhara. The
- campaign will continue up to September 18, 2023.
- WHO Afar office expedited the dispatching of requested and approved 6 MT of cholera supplies to four health facilities in the region.
- This week,281, cumulatively 3,842, confirmed and epi-linked cholera cases were reported from Amhara region, with 71 deaths (CFR = 1.85%).
- In collaboration with Tigray RHB, WHO provided RRT training for220 participants from 37 weredas of central and northwest zones of Tigray.
- Cholera surveillance and response training was provided for 30 health workers from Gondar Cityand Janamora Woreda health offices in Amhara region.
- PRSEAH orientation was provided to 202 health workers and Tigray Bureau of Industry staff during and MHPSS training in Adigrat, Tigray
